Bio
Amanda “Jo” Erven, CIA, CFE, CPA, has presented for over 70 IIA Chapters, as well as many ACFE Chapters and State CPA Societies over the past 5 years. She has presented globally for IIA Mexico, IIA Canada, IIA North America Conferences, and at the ACFE’s Global Fraud Conference. Jo has also presented regionally for associations such as the Association of Airport Internal Auditors, the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, the Association of Local Government Auditors, and the Association of College and University Auditors. She has worked in audit since 2004, and was the Director of Internal Audit for an international Financial services firm until 2018.
Jo is now a full-time Lecturer and the Director of Internal Audit Education for one of The IIA’s Internal Audit Education Partnership (IAEP) program schools, Metropolitan State University of Denver. As Director, Jo guides graduate students as they act as the University’s Internal Auditors! She has also developed an undergraduate and graduate Risk Assurance and Advisory certificate for students to earn to better prepare them for the workforce. She is passionate about educating future and current internal audit leaders.
